No, I don't know either. My money has been on a snap election for a little while though I did take the opportunity to lock in my profits and go all green a while back.

The speculation has gone on too long - not holding an election now looks like a victory for the Conservatives. Of course, it's small stuff compared to all the headlines a Government can create in a few months of government, let alone a few years. I suspect that the relatively good coverage of Conservative party conference and the resulting closing of the polls is something Gordon Brown always knew might happen.

The gossip does still seem to be suggesting a November poll.
