MP faces child assault investigation

Eastbourne's Conservative MP, Nigel Waterson, faces investigation after an alleged assault on his children.

The Mirror has more details.

I won't go into more details, for fear of prompting Nigel to waste more of his solicitor's time on me than he did when I was the agent for his constituency.

The people of Eastbourne, where he has a majority of about 700-odd on the new boundaries, will doubtless be interested to hear this story.

They will also doubtless be interested to learn that The Mirror and The Telegraph say that Waterson's home is in Beckenham, Kent. This is odd, since Waterson keeps saying that he lives in Willingdon, a village in his constituency...

Nigel Waterson's home in Beckenham is 10 miles from Westminster. Derek Conway's constituency is 15 miles from Westminster. If the latter is too far to commute from, how come the former isn't? Either Waterson should be claiming and Conway shouldn't, or vice versa.
