Nigel Waterson: "I've done nothing wrong"

The MP who was arrested following an incident at his home in Beckenham last week has said to his local papers that he didn't do anything wrong.

A lot of people seem to have been reading my blogpost about this, so in the interests of fairness to Nigel Waterson I think I should repeat his side of the story, as told to the Eastbourne Herald last week.

"I called the police to an incident on Sunday. I have done nothing wrong and did not assault anybody. I have not been charged with anything. I am constrained in what I am able to say by law, but when this matter has been finally put to rest, we will be free to make a fuller statement."

I remain interested to see the eventual outcome of the investigation. While I think Waterson is an unpleasant mediocrity, I've never noticed any signs of him being particularly violent.

Don Liberali has an interesting take on the matter, though I can't vouch for his sources.
